Clematis

Any suggestions what to do with a very vigorous clematis that’s grown up a tall obelisk & now it’s tendrils are growing horizontally as no space (excuse the garage door on patio - it’s at a house we’re currently renovating)

    Is it a montana @julia.hall2461?
    If so, it would never be very happy on an obelisk, as you'd be constantly cutting it back and then losing flowers. They want to be very large plants - used for covering sheds, garages, fences etc.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
