Raspberries

Planted 4 autumn bliss plants in February and starting to get some fruit. First time with raspberries.

Picture below shows little white stumps left behind after I picked a few, is this as expected? They were deep red all over and tasted fine...just worried if I'm picking them too early.

    If you're picking them before they're fully ripe, they won't come off the white "core" cleanly.  The fact that you're leaving the core behind means that you're picking them at the right stage of ripeness.   :)

    Yes - perfectly normal. Some of mine are the same, and even the wild brambles do that now and again. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
