Dietes tricolor

My dog pulled up my dietes tricolor, which was doing beautifully in a pot. When I  found it, it had been baking in the heat for several hours. I put it in water,  but the leaves are pretty crispy. The roots look pretty good, though. Can it be saved?

I don't grow it, but had a quick look at cultivation notes. It is stated as very drought tolerant and hails from Africa.

So I would say you do have a fair chance of saving it.
Re pot it and cut off the crispy leaves as they will be serving no purpose, and some new ones should grow.
It says full sun to dappled shade, so I think I would keep it in dappled shade or shaded but good light until it recovers.

Also I would be having a slightly stern word with the dog ( wink).
    Pretty flower.
  • Thanks, I'll do that.  7 mo  60 lb. German shepherd  pup. He gets into more things than I can anticipate, and is banished to the backyard unless fully supervised
