Patio/garden fence causing damp to neighbour issue

Hi, I have a garden fence along the patio and down onto the garden. A while back our drain flooded and flooded the patio but caused a damp issue on next doors extension which is a lower level than the patio. Drains sorted. Patio cleared but neighbour 5 weeks later after heavy rain say damps back. Unsure on what to do to placate them. We are private rented.

    If the property causing the problem is a rented one, the problem is one for the landlord to sort out.

    I would suggest that you contact your Landlord first and see what he/she is prepared to help you out. You can then tell your neighbour that you are making enquiries.
    Was your fence and patio in existence when you took the property on or have you installed it yourself with the permission/agreement of your Landlord ?  Could make a bit of a difference re responsibility.  Good luck with getting it sorted :)
