My daughter recently discovered the National Dahlia Collection is held in Redruth, not far away from us. We agreed a trip was worthwhile. Because I did not feel up to it she went on her own this week end.
She called in to see me on her way home with a bunch of mixed dahlias which a gentleman had cut for me to cheer me up. What a kind thought and lovely surprise.
He told my daughter it doesn't really matter what the flowers are, they just make you smile. A gardener after my own heart.
