My Hotlips salvia was bent double by snow last December and l honestly didn't think it would survive. It hadn't been pruned at all since the "Hampton Hack". It's still going, probably down to the fact that it's tucked in by a corner of the house wall.
Most of mine survived last winter, some didn't even lose all their leaves, which surprised me. I lost two in pots that I didn't move up against the house, but they were duplicates (I take quite a lot of cuttings) so no great loss.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
