Amelanchier lamarckii

Hi all,

I brought this Amelanchier lamarckii tree in spring this year and I noticed it has some brown spots on leafs and could be some white on the darker green leafs. It has just had a top up of fresh compost.
Photos in link.
Any ideas on the leafs and what it could be causing this and what to do ?

It looks like a touch of rust - it's just one of those things that happen.
Mine gets it a bit too.
It won't do any harm and may not appear next year..... but it might.
There aren't any sprays available in the UK to treat it anyway :)

The white patches look like a touch of mildew which is related to weather conditions and water.

So long as you're keeping your new shrub well-watered during the occasional dry spells we've been getting this summer I'm sure it'll be fine.
    It's just getting settled-in.
They're really tough plants and there's not a lot that will harm them.

I'm assuming it's planted in the ground and not in a pot..

At the moment it is in a very big pot as we be moving soon, and then it will be planted in the ground. 🙂

@sarahharmer2014 Iv'e had one in a pot since last Autumn. I hope to plant it this Autumn having recently moved. It also has some dark leak spots. I have managed to avoid the mildew. I am hoping that it will be fine next year.

If you've added a lot of compost over the base, that isn't a great idea, as you're burying it deeper than it was. Better to take it out, put the extra soil in the bottom and replant, so that the tree is at the same level it was before being lifted.  :)
