Sorry again! Yet another Deciduous Shrub I planted last year where I have lost the name stick and cannot recall what it is. Please ignore the weeds which are about to be removed

Pretty hard to tell from those twigs but I'd hazard a guess at dogwood

Yes- hard to tell, but dogwood, ie Cornus, is a good shout.
However - in your pic, the only real weed is a little bit of grass over on the left. The rest are Aquilegia seedlings, so you might want to keep those. They can seed around and become a bit muddy in colour, but you may have some very nice ones, so it's worth transplanting those, or even just leaving them to see what they look like next year when they flower. It won't harm the shrub.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Have turned pic.
    Pic not very clear.
Leaves appear to be alternate which rules out  99% of Cornus.
Not a clue what it is. Sorry

I think the seedlings are actually that bl**dy yellow oxalis! :)

    They are Oxalis.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • Thank you all so much. I'm not sure what I may have or have not done to cause its slow re- growth this year

    Is it blueberry?

And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils (roses). Taking a bit of liberty with Wordsworth :)
