Spider Mite Eradication

Hello, i have been battling both red and spotted Spider mites all summer with little to no success.

I have tried nearly everything from thoroughly washing the plants down with water / used soapy water spray / pesticides like "Bug Clear Ultra" & "SB Plan Pesticide" both are meant to kill spider mites. Ten minutes later i can see them happily crawler around again on areas clearly sprayed.

Do i have some sort of super spider mites or am i missing something?

Is it worth trying Neem oil?

Are you sure they’re spider mites,  you need a magnifying glass to see those?

  • Hi Lyn, yeah 100% sure unfortunately, attached pictures just taken. Keep in mind I sprayed the plants yesterday with water and then once dried I sprayed with pesticide.

If they're inside, you need to wash all of the nearby surfaces. I used a weak solution of bleach and washing up liquid. Just the surfaces. Not the plants

Most insect sprays don't kill arachnids (to which mites are related) despite what they say on the label.
It's worth trying neem oil if you really need to shift them. It's not toxic it just glues the mites in place so they can't move and they die.
It has to be repeated as eggs will continue to hatch for a while.
It's not something I've ever used so only going by hearsay.
