Large plastic plant pot supplier?

Anyone able to recommend a supplier of large plastic plant pots, bigger than what you might find in a typical garden centre, maybe 10L upwards pease?

I have some large plants that I need to pot on as the area they are going into isn't ready yet, thanks.

  • I find Elixir garden supplies really good value and have bought lots of various sized pots from them over the years. Usually get 10% off too (elixir10 code I think).

I can recommend Brookside for pots, very good quality. They do 20 and 30 litres as well.

Thanks, I've just been out and measured their current pots which are 40cm diameter so they are probably already in 20L pots, perhaps I need to be looking at 30L+? I see both Elixir and Brookside Nursery have them.

What type of plants are you talking about?  That might have a bearing on the pot size  :)
  • If it is only a temporary solution - ie until you have prepared their planting site, a compost bag would probably do the job if you use decent soil/compost and ensure sufficient drainage holes.  It would save both expense and being left with surplus pots you may not otherwise make future use of.

I've bought some, roughly the size of a half barrel, from Wilko. You do have to make your own drainage holes in the bottom, but it's not too tricky. They are great value too.  Tho I don't know if they will have any in stock atm, because of their problems 😐 might be worth a look tho?

Thanks, I've just ordered a set of 5 x Elixir 35L pots with saucers for £41 from Amazon...

Have you considered black buckets from DIY stores, £1 each, easy to make holes in the bottom. I grow Dahlias and Cannas in them.

    They're ideal @punkdoc. I've often used them.
A standard bucket is 3 gallons, so that's about 13/14 litres.

If its not too late I would buy direct and avoid the amazon premium.  Looks to be £37 on their site (and you can get an extra 10%off).
