? What’s Happening to Cucumbers

All of a sudden my cucumber skins are looking like this. Anyone know why?

Oh my goodness.  I haven't noticed any snails either in the greenhouse.  Does it affect the cucumber or all okay to eat? Can I do anything to deter them?

The cucumbers are fine to eat. It's just cosmetic damage really.
I just peel off the snail munched bit and give them a rinse.
I put a few slug pellets around, but I'm still getting the munch marks. It happens overnight. I do find quite a few resting snails around the plant still during the day.

I'm off to have a hunt. Just been looking it up.  Read about saucers with beer and vaseline mixed with salt?   Oh well the challenges of gardening!! Thanks for the info Pete.8

It’s a shame that’s happened to them. Lesson learned for next year. I’ve been giving some tomatoes and cucumbers to the food bank too but wouldn’t give these ones.

I've been giving my nibbled ones to my neighbour 😁 she doesn't even bother removing the nibbled bit..

My snails don’t mind the chewed bits.
