Cerinthe seedlings

earlydazeearlydaze Posts: 105
My cerinthe (this summers) have already set seed - so I have very healthy seedlings - but right in front of border so not where I would like them. Will I actually get any flowers from them this year? Is it worth moving them- I am working under the assumption they will die in winter cold and I should just grow from seed as I did this year- any advice?

I have found them to be pretty tough, and have moved them to new flowering positions in early to mid September. They then flower the following Spring.
Alternatively you could pot them up and place them in a coldframe or near a house wall for shelter and then plant them out in March or April depending on whereabouts you live.

Mine don't always survive the winter, so keep a few seedlings inside/under cover.
