My thoughts are - is it that you can’t get to sleep, can’t sleep as long as you wish, feel rubbish after sleep, or feel tired whether you sleep or not?
I see these as separate issues with differing solutions. Maybe keep a diary of your daily routine, sleep patterns and tiredness/fatigue and see if any patterns or improvements spring forth??
if you do the same thing that has worked before. It is not a guarantee of the same result. ❤
Oh isn't it just! I can't count the times I've found myself saying 'and I don't know why' after a bad night. I guess all I can say is keep on thinking. Some of my triggers I found years ago, some more recently, and I think some come and go. There are also some that won't show till the following night (blue cheese, for some reason).
The other thing question is how sympathetic your Dr is. I went from a rheumatologist who was dismissive, blamed everything on my lifestyle (doing too much) and discounted many issues because they were small, even though the accumulation wasn't if that makes sense. I changed to someone who was more interested in my disease and therefore me, and she was so helpful. Is there any scope for you to ask to see a specialist (or different one)?
