What's been eating our Fig and Geranium leaves?

This year the leaves on our 'Little Miss Figgy' (although it's 7-foot + tall!) have been peppered with holes. I thought it was a leaf miner at first, but it could be caterpillars.
Then there's a Hardy Geranium, whose leave have been reduced to near-skeletons. Again, I think that caterpillars are responsible.  Has anyone had similar experiences?

I’ve seen that on my pelargoniums but not on fig leaves,  or HG, it’s usually a very tiny caterpillar, bright green, thin and very hard to spot.
If you could get the geranium in the ground it will toughen up and resist pests,  I think it’s weakened in the pot of compost.
