Container grown Yucca Gloriosa Variagata lower leaves browning.

I planted up my yucca at the beginning of this year in a large container and it already seems well established with very healthy top growth. However, I regularly seem to need to trim off discoloured lower leaves - you can see another one starting to ‘go off’ in the photo. It’s in a sunny position where it would normally get at least 8 hours direct (when the sun actually comes out!)
It this just because it’s been such a damp summer overall and do I really need to worry?
Many thanks.

They naturally form a bare trunk with a crown of leaves on top as they mature, so it might just be starting that process. Make sure the compost isn't staying wet though. They like a free-draining soil/compost, and the pot should have good drainage holes. Make sure they aren't blocked so that excess water can run out easily.

    Thank you @JennyJ - that’s quite reassuring!

The ones in my local garden centre look lovely and round with no tatty under skirts so I wondered if I was doing something wrong, but if it’s a normal part of the growth process, I can stop fussing.  :)
