Aeonium

The entire head has fallen off my Aeonium tabuliforme variagata  . The head itself is perfect  . Can I replant , it's beautiful  , and I am devastated

    I would plant the ‘head’. I would also keep the stem which in my experience will probably sprout new shoots. 

    @Hostafan1 may well be able to give you more advice … I’ve given him a nudge.

    I understand you need the broken stem to dry out for a day or so before planting.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
  • Thank you , much appreciated  . Should I take off lower leaves of the head and pin to the gritty compost please ?
  • How long a stem does your "head" have ?  If there is no stem as such, then putting it in a shallow tray with a gritty soil is the best you can do.
    If the main plant stem is still live, then as said above, you may get new ones forming.  If the plant stem is soft/rotten to the base, you will have to rely on your cutting  :)
