Hello I’m not sure what type of conifer this is? Will this green back up if I plant it in the ground? It’s currently in a small pot 🥺

The brown foliage won't green up. If you have space, it will be much happier in the ground. Sorry, I'm not sure of the ID.
Wirral. Sandy, free draining soil.

No problem at all ; agree with the above comments though ; it will grow larger and would be a lot happier in the ground .
Junipers can be carefully pruned lightly if you require some semblance of shape .
