Climbing beans

Just wondering if climbing beans always climb clockwise or anti-clockwise? I’ve been tying in my beans as they grow and noticed that some “rebel” so I have to re-train them to ensure they don’t flop over. I’m not in my garden at the moment so can’t check if there’s a pattern….just a morning musing!

I think I’m right in saying climbing French beans climb anti-clockwise whereas runner beans climb clockwise.

Bit like the OH, they always do the opposite to what I want them to do! I give up trying and let them do as they like.

I think Dove is right - most beans climb anticlockwise, but runners are clockwise

I'm now going to have an ear worm for the rest of the day....

The fragrant honeysuckle spirals clockwise to the sun,
and many other creepers do the same,
But some climb anti-clockwise, the bindweed does for one,
Or convolvulus to give her proper name.

I’ve never had to tie beans,  they naturally curl round their supports.
