Purple loosestrife [Lythrum salicaria]

I've seen one of Monte Don's programs where he mentioned purple loosestrife. It is overtaking our native plants in the Midwest and has been banned. See the following:

    You are in Michigan? The plant is native to the UK
  • Yes, I'm in Michigan. Don't know how loosestrife got here, but it's unruly!

    The white arum, Zantedeschia aethiopica is a nuisance in Western Australia. Here in England it dies over winter if left outside.  Anything can become a pest if it has ideal conditions.

    It is extremely helpful to add where you live for all to see.
    I had to add it to the bottom of my posts as I couldn't get it to work any other way.

      Anything can become a pest if it has ideal conditions.
