    Reclamation yards or Gumtree are good for reclaimed brick.

    I would advise to stay away from anything plastic.

    Timber can also be effective but you need to factor in replacement in 5-10 years time. People sometimes use sleepers, laid flat. You could even use chunky (10-15cm wide) fence posts though.

    I use treated timber as does my neighbour. I don't walk on mine because of where it is but I have some interesting Torville and Dean episodes on his. He used 4x4 whereas I used 4x2 on edge which helps too.
    His best plan was to place scaffold planks over a large area outside the front of his shed. Now that is a death trap! I keeps suggesting a layer of chicken wire and he keeps saying 'yeah...' from his position sitting on his behind on the wet planks! 🤣🤣🤣
