I was wrong … I’ve been searching through my Keble-Martin and am pretty sure this is it  … Cicerbita macrophylla … the Blue Sowthistle

KM says it’s ‘a garden escape now naturalised in grassy places and on waste ground, widespread throughout Britain and Ireland’

Very good. I have to say the flowers are very chicory like.  I currently have chicory flowering in the lawn, its been mown down once so its only about 15 inches high, wheras all those in flower beds are around three to four feet high.  The leaves are dandelion like.
  • @JennyJ & @Dovefromabove Amazing thank you!!!!! I would never have found that. Blue sow thistle it is!
