Dahlia tubers

  • For future dahlia purchases, @SunnySnowdrop I tend to buy from H.W.Hyde & Son, Farmer Gracy and Peter Nyssen. They are all specialists in the field and sell a wide range of other bulbs alongside. And always send them out when in season.

I’ve had some lovely dahlias from Wilco,  start looking in early Spring.  Depends how much you want to spend,  there are lots of good expensive nurseries on line,

  • Yes let's hope Wilco survives, do buy lots of bits from them too @Lyn this weekend they have £1 delivery promo if anyone has a spree pending.

Good to know @amancalledgeorge. I am awaiting a delivery of bulbs from Farmer Gracy due at the end of September. I haven't used them before but their site appealed to me.

They can be quite expensive, but usually good quality @plant pauper.
Nyssens are always reliable, and excellent customer service.  :)
You can also pick up things like dahlias from places like B&Q, supermarkets, and those cheapo places like B&M etc., in early spring. They can be excellent.

If you want specific varieties, go to one of the reliable suppliers @SunnySnowdrop , but re mortgage your house first as you want be able to stop at a few dahlias.... ;)

If you'd let them know, they'd have refunded or replaced.
    Did you contact them?

@SunnySnowdrop If you do plant the tubers now and it does work - please do post the pics. It would be fascinating to see the unfolding results.

I am very surprised at your experience with Nyssens, I have always had good stuff from then, and they have never quibbled if I have requested a refund.
