Russet and pear - plant where cherry plum with taphrina padi fungus was recently removed ?

Hi, I moved in here two years ago and found a cherry plum with a bad case of taphrina padi fungus.  There are many similar trees - copper-leaved ornamental cherry-plums - around here, but no others seem to have been affected by taphrina padi - just the one in my garden.
I removed all the fungused fruit and their branches, and disposed of them all off site, about two months ago, and then I cut the tree down to knee height: it's shot up again, but next I'm going to remove it entirely. Then, in the same part of the garden, I want to put in other fruit trees, eg egremont russet apple, plus a comice or conference pear - (all on dwarfing roots).  Possibly also some red currant and gooseberry bushes.
So the questions I'm pondering now are:
(1) Can I put the new trees and bushes in this autumn or should I wait till next spring, assuming that colder weather will reduce the population of taphrina padi in the soil ?
(2) Is there any chance at all of taphrina padi affecting any of the proposed fruit trees/ bushes ?  and
(3) If so, what other fruit would be more resistant to this particular fungus ?
[Apparently, taphrina padi fungus is not common, and is of some interest to those who are interested in fungi. Hmm.]
