What's going on with this apple tree? No apples anywhere else, but loads in just this small area

    Could that area of the tree be more sheltered from the frost at blossom time than the rest of the tree?

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    Well it's certainly lower down, but would that explain the peculiar multiple fruiting point?
