Baby Chantenay carrots

Help, thought would grow these baby carrots in a butler sink, growing well, when will I know they are ready for harvest, without test digging, or is that the only way, thank you.

    If you use a finger to gently wipe away the soil/compost just below the leaves you'll be able to judge how fat the carrots are.
    If they seem fat enough pull one out then you'll get an idea of how they're coming along.

  • I’ve been pulling carrots for about 3 weeks now from my raised planters. I do what Pete has suggested … best to firm the soil afterwards though to minimise the risk of carrot fly.
