Red Buds & Reddish New Leaves

 Hi everyone,

I’ve just got a 2/3 year old Prunus Serrulata cherry blossom tree and it has started growing strange red lumps on the stems and all along the edge of some of the leaves. Does anyone know what this is? Also, the newest leaves all have a reddish tinge to them. Is that normal? Thanks for any help.

    Hi and welcome to the forum.
    Click on this https://landscapeplants.oregonstate.edu/plants/prunus-serrulata-kanzan and scroll down to the picture of "leaf and stem" which shows the red lumps you are concerned about. They are a normal part of the plant but don't ask me what they do.
    The reddish colour of the new leaves is quite normal. A lot of plants have new leaves that are not bright green to start with.
