Amelanchier Robin Hill, yellowing brown leaves, looks sick

Hi, I have an Amelanchier Robin Hill, it was planted almost 2 years ago. It seemed healthy but recently the leaves are yellowing and have brown edges etc. see photos. Any advice on what’s troubling it…. I garden on clay, and last year we had drought.

I’m not sure but I have robin hill and it can look a little like this at times. Mine is on clay. I think it is only indicative of it wanting more water personally as I believe they like it moist and I think prefer it a little acidic which again mine is not. I think just more water but far more experienced gardens will be able to let you know I’m sure

Lack of water is the most likely reason, but wind can also damage newer foliage. Not usually a major problem though, and it should be fine.
However, with clay soil, unless you're in a consistently damp part of the country, it really needs some help to improve it's structure and help prevent drying out in hotter, drier spells, especially if those are long term. Adding organic matter regularly, before planting, is the ideal, but obviously that isn't possible. You can still do that though, by adding it as often as possible, especially once the soil's nicely dampened.
It helps with drainage in winter too, because it opens the clay up. Compost [home made or bought] rotted manure [you can buy that bagged in GCs etc] and leaf mould if you can get, or make it, are all ideal. The bark you've used will also break down and will help
