Could this be cotoneaster?

I was tidying up the front garden today and found this single stem. Could it be cotoneaster? The one that grows up a wall?

    not Cotoneaster, possibly Pyracantha but no definite

    It looks like pyracantha to me as well.

    Thanks @nutcutlet and @AnniD and @B3 it does doesn’t it now you say that although I didn’t see any thorns on it…. Do they all have thorns?

    The new growth is quite soft, thorns appear later  :)
