Identifying a cotoneaster tree

We moved 11 months ago to our current home and are trying to identify a small (approx10’x10’) cotoneaster tree. It had been heavily pruned so no fruits last autumn. Leaves about 3.5” long, slender and slightly shiny, no fuzz on undersides. Quite a dense growth of branches. If anyone can offer any suggestions I’d be very grateful, particularly as we’d like to anticipate how tall it will grow!

It might be Cotoneaster Cornubia, but l'm not entirely sure.
  • Thank you, but looking at pictures on line I think that’s much bigger and spread out. I could be wrong!

Must admit it was a bit of a guess  :)
There are some very knowledgeable people on this forum, l'm sure someone will be able to identify it.
  • We had we had what I think was a C Conubia in our last house and it was quite a different shape and larger leaves, less densely growing.

Hi, I’ve found the plant net app incredibly useful in identifying plants. Think the accuracy is pretty good.

I think it's cornubia too. They can get to huge proportions, but when trimmed/cut back they're different in leaf size and habit.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
