Brown areas on pear tree leaves

Hi all, can I ask advice please? We have a small pear tree growing in a pot. We have had it for about a year, and it has been looking a bit sad for about 2 months. I have now discovered brown areas on the leaves, can anybody tell me what this is? I have an app which tells me that this is brown spot disease, but I'm not sure if this is right. We have brown spots on some of our roses, but they look very different. More like spots, really, and this looks more like a liquid. Any ideas how I can treat this?

I am not sure, someone else may know. Has it been well-watered? Leaves sometimes do that due to water stress....

Hi, thanks. It's outside, and when it all started it was raining a lot. It got plenty of water when it was dry. We have an apple and a plum tree, bought at the same time and in pots just like this one, they are doing well. And it affects an area of the tree, about a third in the middle, above and below there are no brown areas on the leaves.
