Confusion, is Erigeron karvinskianus 'Profusion' toxic to animals?

Hello! I have several erigeron 'profusion' plants which I have grown from Sarah Raven seeds, I thought these were safe for animals because on checking this page on GW erigeron karvinskianus 'profusion' were marked as having no toxic effects to animals. However, I have just seen this page  on GW where erigeron karvinskianus are listed as toxic to cats and dogs. I have also seen conflicting advice online. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight on this? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks :)

There are lots and lots of contradictory lists of which plants that or may be toxic to different animals. Part of the confusion seems to be that most plants can be 'toxic' to some degree if you eat enough of them, but generally the chances of eating enough of them to get more than a mild bellyache are virtually nil. And a mild bellyache probably is all it takes to dissuade them from eating any more.

All I can tell you for sure is I grow loads of it and neither my dogs nor the neighbourhood cats have ever even tried to eat it. Plenty of things in the garden they do eat - that's not one of them.

I think the things you really have to be careful of are lilies if you have cats and, for dogs, daffodil or allium bulbs. Puppies need supervision, adult dogs are not, in my experience, particularly inclined to eat random plants. Carrots, yes. Cow parsnip and goose grass, definitely. Other stuff, not so much

Thanks! My neighbour's cat has never expressed any interest in it but just this week I have caught her trying to chew the leaves a couple of times. She has been a bit unwell lately and I was worried this might have had something to do with it.
