Plum/ greengage trees

Hi, every year I have beautiful plums from the tree and every year when I open the fruit there's a pink looking magot in everyone. I've tried soapy water spraying in November and February time and have also tried a product from the garden centre to spray which I was told may help. None of this seems to have worked 😕

Any ideas?

Thanks

I don't grow them @fatfei, but I know there's a plum moth which could be the reason for the larvae inside the fruit.
You could probably find info on the RHS site about it  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I have two plums and a greengage and have that problem although the Victoria plum gets them significantly worse than the others. This year I've used these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08THTYQV1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 although I couldn't say how many of what's been caught are actually plum moths. I don't know that spraying in winter has any effect as far as plum moths are concerned, that's more for other pests like aphids.

I've definitely still had invaders because of the holes and resin on the plums so I've just picked them off and binned them. No point in the tree putting energy into fruit I can't eat.
