What plant is this?

Is this plant poisonous to pets?

    It may be a day lily, I'm not sure. They aren't poisonous. Pets rarely eat poisonous plants anyway. They know better than we do.

    Another possibility is Carex Pendula which most people would consider a weed that can be invasive.

    New growth of bindweed next to it as well.

    Daylilies are toxic to cats, but not dogs.  Unfortunately, I have one cat who will eat anything she can put in her mouth, so I've had to do a lot of research for my last two yards to ensure any plants I use are safe.  She's the exception to the rule.  :D

    @Nettie D Yes agree Carex Pendula.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
