Autumn Raspberry - Autumn Bliss

These are relatively new plants, last autumn was their first autumn after planting and I had a small crop, enough for one desert. I cut them back March, we are on the top of the Chiltern ridge so its quite chilly. They have grown well and sent out lots of new stems. Only one plant flowered on one stem and we have about 2 berries. What am I doing wrong?

It's early yet for autumn-fruiting raspberries. The main cropping time is supposed to be September so those new stems have time yet to flower and fruit.

You were probably a bit late cutting them down. They really need cutting down to ground level in January. They will fruit, just a bit late.

If they're in a shady spot they might not flower until October - and will continue until the frosts.

We've got some autumn raspberries coming over under the fence from the neighbours, that are in quite a shady spot. They are already bearing small fruits now. We think they are the autumn ones because we cut them to the ground in Feb-Mar.
