Gertrude Jekyll

Hi folks.... this is a Gertrude Jekyll that I have grown from a cutting. The first few flowers that bloomed were stunning but the subsequent offerings are small and  malformed. I feed and water regularly..... any advice will be greatly appreciated.

What soil is it in? MPC is usually not got enough loam or soil in for roses. They prefer proper soil.
  • She's quite a vigorous rose, so can't imagine it will be happy for long in a pot.

Just googled it,  Gertrude Jekyll is fine in a large container. I am going to change the mpc for John Innes Number 3. Thanks for the help 👍👍🌻

I had her in a large pot. She looks hungry. I used soil mixed with MPC and I fed her about 4 times a year with rose fertiliser.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
