Baytree

Rather than planting a conifer as mentioned in this discussion https://forum.gardenersworld.com/discussion/1075527/what-wildlife-can-I-attract-by-planting-a-goldcrest-conifer-in-the-middle-of-an-overgrown-area I instead opted for a baytree.

I know baytree are non-native as well, however, I've read somewhere they can help attract bees and butterflies. What else could I potentially attract by planting this type of tree?

I've never noticed them attracting either. But they certainly attract bay leaf suckers!

If they flower and produce berries, they will certainly attract Wood Pigeons  ;)

They’ll attract the ladies/men the leaves are lovely to use in cooking.  You can use them fresh or dry them,  I only ever use them fresh.
I don’t find anything much attracted to it though,  same with the laurel hedge.
