Im in West Fife Scotland and mine got a bit of a knock back during the cold snap last winter but is flowering now. It’s in a circle of largish stones raised bed with good moisture retentive soil and as others have said, care is confined to cutting out the dead stuff. Seeds taken when ripe germinate readily and I have a juvenile growing happily elsewhere in the garden. Dierama seems to have a reputation for being hard to grow up here but I’ve had it for around 20 years.
I discovered they do sulk if moved when it outgrew the raised bed and I’d to dig up the bulbs, separate them and replant and it didn’t flower the following year. I gifted my neighbours the left over bulbs and 5 years on they’re growing quite happily and flowering in their gardens.
Looking like a big grass with flowers on it, makes it a bit of a talking point for those seeing it for the first time.
