Hi all. Been to DA roses today and walking around the garden we saw and smelt this tree. Almost like a jasmine scent very strong. Any idea what it could be?

Hi Debs. I think it could be Tilia tomentosa - a lime tree.

Yes, I agree, not the common UK lime though, but the silver lime, tomentosa. The ordinary lime has almost fluffy looking flowers and is not as strongly scented.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
