Acer Osakazuki

Hi
I have an Acer Osakazuki and have noticed some leaves have curled up and “died” ? Does anyone know what may have caused this? See pic below

The dark brown/black branches look like they have died back so cannot transport water to the leaves any longer.
That's most likely due to a lack of water.

Less likely is that it has verticillium wilt which appears as random black 'bruises' on branches with dead leaves at the ends.

Sometimes  Acers just terminate a branch or two. Providing it's not widespread it's nothing to worry about.
