In my daughter's  garden
Is it a viburnum  or some kind of jasmine. Covered in butterflies  and bees.

In London. Keen but lazy.

Thank you @Hostafan1.  She's not a gardener, but I live in hopes.

It certainly looks escallonoiod @Hostafan1. I had told her to sniff it but no reply as yet 😊 Doesn't it peeve you a bit when someone with no particular interest in gardening ends up with better plants than you  but maybe that's just me.

    Anther vote for E. Iveyi.
A dear friend gave me a cutting years ago and it grew fairly easily. The scent was lovely.
But after a couple of years it kept getting a kind of black fungal leaf spot that Escallonias can get that causes them to drop their leaves.
I tried really hard to care for it. But it was a bit of a loss and looked dreadful.

Hope your daughters does better, maybe you could get a cutting or two to try.
It looks pretty healthy and dark green.
    Peeved here too LOL....

Mine didn't survive winter here which was a shame as it's so much nicer than the pink ones.  I couldn't smell any scent on it though.

Hopefully, it'll do well for your daughter @B3.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
