Disease or not disease?

I have two Clematis plants, one either side of a metal archway. These have grown over and touched each other at the top.
Some of the leaves on one of the plants have changed colour and I am wondering if that plant is diseased. The leaves on the other plant are the same colour over the whole of the plant.
I have attached a picture of the discoloured leaves.

Perfectly normal. All foliage changes, and some will die off and drop, and then more will be produced, and some will thrive.
Weather conditions, and the stage the plant is at re producing buds/flowers, are also factors.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

The roots could be ok,  don’t dig it out just yet,  see what comes up later.

  • I will leave it until I buy a new one next year. Problem is I can't remember when it flowered to try getting both to flower together if it is dead.

My Piilu looks dead at the moment.  Needs a good sort out.  It flowers for months none stop but burns itself out eventually and looks ragged.

  • I have changed the soil all around the root ball so fingers crossed

@Lyn, our Piilu is also looking awful at the moment. It produced some beautiful flowers earlier on but now looks as if it's kicking the bucket. Some clematis @theno2soco start to look like yours so don't worry, it'll come back. We have a clematis Montana that's starting to look a little bedraggled at the bottom but further up it's on a sprint.Similar with Clematis Jackmanii.
