@topovzmonkeyX0LiP12k With a caring son like you I am sure she can cope with a long term weed regime.
I do think photographers see the world with a different 'eye'. My bro is a prof landscape photographer too.
Gardeners use a similar, skill nosing at gardens whilst out for a walk checking out good planting combos. I can return home close my eyes and remember the plants used in a good scheme. Just like a little photo in my mind.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

You're a credit to your parents @topovzmonkeyX0LiP12k - I hope your mum appreciates you!
Framing a photo well, and considering the whole appearance and composition is always important for me, but I'm certainly not any kind of expert with a camera. I've always enjoyed taking photos though.
I can highly recommend @GardenerSuze's brother's pix. Beautiful.

It's certainly useful to have an 'eye' as you say Suze, if you want certain combinations in a garden, or you want to create a particular effect. Always a bit of tweaking though  ;)
I love looking at gardens when I'm out for my walk each day. It's also useful when you see things you wouldn't have in a gift!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
