Off Topic, UPS Parcel delivery

I'm having problems with a delivery from UPS. They sent an email telling me they want a signature for delivery and to 'sign here'. I am somewhat reluctant to do this in advance.
Anybody know if this is extra security so the delivery driver compares the two signatures?

Sounds like one of the many scams. I’ve never had to do that with a UPS delivery. I would contact the sender if I were you.
Definitely do not sign for delivery in advance 😱

Have a close look at the email address @Lizzie27.

I wouldn't respond unless you are absolutely certain that a. it is UPS and b. You are expecting a parcel from them.
Even if that's so, l would not respond to the email but go through the website.

We've checked the email address which seems to be authentic. Canon sent me an email saying order had been dispatched and giving me a tracking link which takes me straight through to the UPS site. Just says, 'Label done on the 14th July.  Order was 12th July - 5-8 days standard. We're out and about quite a lot so don't want to miss it.

Will just have to sit and wait.

Is there anything about signing in advance on the UPS tracking site that Canon sends you to? If not, you've got your answer.

Also, to check the email address, don't just look at it. Hover over it or click on it - it'll often take you to a quite different address which is more obviously dodgy.

That is what UPS do if it’s an expensive item. Check the email address first though.

Looked it up the email is to be signed so you know it’s coming,  it’s not a signature to say you’ve received it.
    Does it look like this?

@Lyn, thanks for that link. I've read through it, what a palaver though! I don't want to set up yet another account with more passwords etc with yet another company. I'm getting sick of having to do it each time. All I want to know is the anticipated delivery date so I can arrange to be in!

@LG_, we checked the email address as advised earlier buy copying and pasting it into Google. It seems to be genuine as far as I can tell.

Almost makes you want to go to Curry's!!!

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

The thing is that the email address can just be a text link to a different address so it depends what you copies and pasted - the text or the link.

Anyway, it sounds like Lyn has it sussed so the above doesn't matter.

Just had another email, parcel apparently been re-scheduled and is due for delivery tomorrow. Haven't asked me to sign for it in advance. Will wait and see.
