Rose identification please

Can anyone identify this rose for me?
Must have been in this garden for about 20 years judging by the thickness of root base. Lovely strong scent, vigorous growth, these two shoots have reached 1.5 metres this year. Though this could be because they’ve been fed for first time in years.  First blooms this week.

There are probably many contenders but it does very much remind me of a hybrid tea rose called ‘Deep Secret’, which I had for a while. Bred by Tantau, launched in the UK in 1977.
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
  • Thanks @Nollie, ‘Deep Secret’ does seem to fit.  It’s the best rose in my rented garden, the only one that seems to have a scent; the others are in an awful state, I pruned this spring as best I could.  Moving on to my own new garden shortly, so ‘Deep Secret’ is on the short list for ordering!

I’m nowhere near sure of my ID but it was scented and quite thorny, I recall. Still, even if I’m wrong, Deep Secret is not a bad choice, several rose nuts on the ROSES thread grow it and rate it highly. Good luck with your move and new garden!
