What is this food plant ?

Hey does anyone know what this is? I took a Berry off and it feels hard to bite down on unless it's not ready to eat yet

It's just not ready to eat if it isn't soft and ripe.  :)
Looks like a tayberry or similar.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

They go a bit darker before they are ready to eat.

It looks like one of the raspberry/blackberry hybrids. Some ripen to red like raspberries and some to black via red like blackberries, and it looks as if yours is one of the black kinds - I can see what looks like a ripe black one just peeking out from behind a red one. Also, they have a kind of hard core. Usually when you pull the berry, the core stays behind on the plant, but if it doesn't you need to pull it out so if you bit down on one of those it wouldn't have been nice.

Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

I think it's just a thornless blackberry as I can see a black one hidden under the others. Ours is at the same point where they are just beginning to ripen.
