Willow 'Flamingo' Ain't Pink, It's brown!

My willow Flamingo has a paltry few pinky green leaves but all of the rest are brown. It's been in the ground for a decade and come through the Beast from the East and hot summers before. When I scrape the bark it is still green so it is alive.

Do I chop it back a bit to encourage it? Water it? Mulch it? Pick a deity and hope?

Keep it well watered and cross your fingers  … itll probably be ok if we get a more ‘normal’ summer next year … like blue-eyed blondes, willows with variegated foliage aren’t designed for the intensity of sunlight we’ve had this summer. 🙄

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
