Is this grass seed for a standard lawn @mariastanton or do you mean one of the wildflower types?  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Hi it's grass seed imbedded into a biodegradable mat for a standard lawn it's only for part of the lawn

Ah - thanks @mariastanton . It's not something I have experience of unfortunately. I tend to just use grass seed directly on any patches which need a bit of help.

I'll tag @rossdriscoll13, who has professional experience when it comes to grass, and hopefully he might be able to advise on whether they're worthwhile or not :)

Maybe useful on sloping area where loose seed might get washed down the slope before it germinated?
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
  • @mariastanton grass seed mats are an american idea that I haven’t used.  I would always prefer to use grass seed.  With the correct prep of the area, sowing of seed (correct amount for the area of lawn) and watering you will have a nice lawn.
