    Maybe @crystalpalacebadger5k6aYUF3L has a decent acreage though.... ;)
    We have Scots pines everywhere round here, and close to houses, so large, mature trees aren't always a huge problem.
    The soil will be a factor though - light soil wouldn't be great if there's a bit of wind. I expect insurance companies would be only too keen to charge a fortune in that instance!
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Many thanks to all. At the moment the dry spell's at an end and The Almighty is watering all my plants for me...but I'll still try the dunking method recommended, and try to prepare a bed for the Montereys. Not too worried about them getting too big as I'd settle for survival.😉
