If its not flowered after all this time, I would give up and plant something different there.  Try a Lavatera such as "Barnsley" , they look similar but are very floriferous and easy to look after.

I would double the size of the cleared area around the shrub and remove the self sown stuff that is invading. Water it well and then put down a thick mulch of garden compost. Beyond that do nothing apart from a sprinkling of fertiliser in Spring.

  • The picture does show it is fine at the moment, but has just started with yellow leaves that fall off, then when the flower buds try to open they fall off, eventually there few flowers and not too many leaves, just hoped to nip it in the bud before it happens again. Last year did open buds there was nothing in there
  • Thankyou Jenny, what you say seems sensible, will give it a try
  • Bennett. Thanks will do
  • Thanks all of you for your help.fingers crossed
  • I have a hibiscus that I’ve moved from the garden and into a pot on the patio as it seemed to do nothing much in the garden. Atm it’s doing nothing much in the pot either - I can see no buds at all on it. Looking at your hibiscus Sonia you are doing better than me ! As for the odd rude person on here they are best just ignored. I’ve had lots of helpful advice from posters here so i’d recommend staying on the site but clearly its your decision.

  • Thankyou Muckyhandsmike, you are right all the other 'posters' have tried to help.good luck with your habiscus they are so lovely when they do flower

I have an Hibiscus,  been in the ground for 10 years,  never had a flower on it!
