Choysia

Why does my choysia not seem to be growing in size.  Also looks like a lot of leaves dying and browning. Did notice a lot of sawfly fall from it when I gives the leaves a shake

Thinking of replanting it in eracacious soil.

It gets plenty of sun. Feed and water

I'd move it out of the sun. The gold ones are best in dappled shade, but can be quite difficult to site because they can go green with too much shade. In cooler parts of the country they're easier, but can get blasted by frost and ice in winter, so it's often a balance with them.
If it's staying potted [which isn't really ideal] it needs to be in a soil based medium, not just compost. They don't need ericaceous compost either, or lots of food - just a decent soil mix and good drainage. Soggy wet soil isn't ideal.
They take a long time to really get going, like any shrub, and then become quite sizeable in the right conditions, but they won't be happy long term in a container.

I'm not aware of them getting sawfly damage. Are you usure that's what's there? A photo of the caterpillars would help.  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
